Child Safe Statement

Yarra Glen Preschool is committed to child safety. We want all children to be happy, safe and empowered.

Yarra Glen Preschool is committed to providing a safe environment for children. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. We will create an environment where the health, safety and wellbeing of all children attending the preschool, is paramount. Yarra Glen Preschool has systems to protect children from abuse, and will take all allegations and concerns very seriously and respond to them consistently in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures. We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety, which we follow rigorously.

Our organisation is committed to regularly training and educating our staff and volunteers on child abuse risks. All educators are suitably qualified and trained to supervise and protect the children in their care. We will actively work towards providing an environment where children are safe and feel safe; where their voices are heard, actions are noticed. We will promote the best interests of each child.

Yarra Glen Preschool actively works to listen to and empower children and is committed to the cultural safety of all children including those from Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. We are committed to providing a safe environment to those with a disability and will endeavour to do all which is reasonably possible to support them.
