Yarra Glen Preschool is a not-for-profit committee run preschool. The Committee of Management hold responsibility for the of running the preschool’s organisational and administrative operations. The volunteer parent Committee of Management lead tasks including:
- financial management of budgets, funding and overheads
- ensuring the preschool meets all regulatory requirements
- policy review and approval
- hiring and management of staff
- maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment
- organisation of fundraising and social functions
- promotion of the preschool
Members are elected annually to the Committee of Management at the Annual General Meeting held in November. Prior experience is not essential – just an interest in the education of your child and a willingness to work as part of a team.

The primary role of the Committee of Management is to ensure that the services provided are maintained in accordance with the regulations and that the kindergarten operates on a balanced budget.
Volunteering to be a committee member is a very positive and constructive way in which you can contribute to your child’s experience at preschool.
